After a completely unproductive weekend...(Where I literally accomplished nothing). Tomorrow starts a new week and a bunch of opportunities to try new things (mostly in my effort to regain some form of physical fitness). Tomorrow I'm going to attempt this by trying "Laughter Yoga." Not sure exactly what this is, I just know it involves breathing exercises, movements and will hopefully improve my happiness by making me laugh because the winter blues are in full force. So we'll see how that goes. Then Tuesday my friend and I are going to try "Cardio Hip Hop." I'm going to assume that this is probably mostly a dance class who's soul purpose is to get you're heart going. Which should be fun. Although I still have visions of me dying on the floor from exhaustion. We'll see. Then on Thursday (I'm not sure if I'm going to take my first crack at this class this Thursday or the following one) we're going to try "Belly Fit." The Belly Fit class is one of the few that actually had a description on the website so I actually know what that is.
"Belly Fit is a fusion fitness class that offers a full body, highly effective exercise experience! In the first half, expect to burn mega calories, relieve stress and get the sweat flowing with fun, easy to learn cardio moves infused with the ancient and beautiful fundamentals of Belly Dance, Bollywood, Bhangra, and African Dance. In the second half, enjoy the sculpting, toning and tightening of a Pilates inspired core workout, as well as a deep yet relaxing Yoga infused stretch and a mindful Mudra Meditation. Offered in the tried and true format of traditional group fitness, each class is set to the high energy beats of the electronic drum, fused with culturally rich ethno-organic sounds and melodies, giving you an hour that inspires the body, the mind, the spirit, and the heart to reach beyond limitations and into pure transformation."
I suppose this means that I can broaden my cultural horizons while also trying to regain physical fitness. To be really cliche; "hit two birds with one stone?"
